Who We Are
We are individuals who are concerned about the outdated policies at local animal shelters which lead to the unnecessary killing of approximately 20,000 companion animals every year in our community.
Our Mission
Citizens for a No-Kill Tucson is dedicated to making Tucson and Pima County a no-kill community for dogs and cats, by reforming local public policy and shelter management to embrace no-kill principles.

Our Goals & Objectives
To accomplish our mission of building a no-kill community and our goal of public policy and shelter reform, we will:
- Collect data and information about the reality of the current situation for dogs and cats in Tucson and Pima County
- Inform the community and local public policy makers of this evidence
- Develop an analysis of the data and information and present a white paper to local decision makers and shelter management recommending reforms based on no-kill principles that have been proven successful in other communities
- Open a dialog with local public policy makers and shelter management about a timetable for change
- Mobilize the community to put pressure on local public policy makers and shelter management to demand change
- Create and maintain a community culture of lifesaving and a shelter philosophy of no-kill, one which maintains a high level of transparency and accountability
